Since September 1, 2012, Dana M. Jones has been blessed to serve as Pastor of Mt. Olive UMC, in Prince Frederick, Maryland.

He is a Servant of the Lord who demonstrates his faithfulness to God through the use of his God given gifts in service to humanity. His work is the evidence of God moving for good among his people.

Beginning in his teen years, while still an undergraduate student, Reverend Jones worked in youth development. He continues his work in the human and community development arena and has served as the President and CEO of two large non-profits. His current organization serves over 95,000 persons annually in the nation’s capital. Both organizations feed and house the poor, assist the homeless, re-train ex-offenders, educate the young, and engage the elderly in mentoring school age children.

Reverend Jones is a firm believer in lifelong learning. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. His graduate work includes advance work in Education at Salisbury State University and Administrative and Business Management at Bowie State University. He earned a Masters in Divinity from Howard University. Reverend Jones was awarded a Doctorate in Humane Letters from Sojourner Douglas College for his advocacy work on behalf of the poor. Shortly before receiving his assignment to Mt. Olive, Reverend Jones was accepted into a PhD program at UMES.

Reverend Jones’ Gubernatorial and National Offices are too numerous to list.

The native of Calvert County is the elder son of Clyde and the late Bertha Jones. He is married to the former Ms. Carolyn Short of Manokin, Maryland. They have three adult children, Rondell, Gregory, and Danielle; and four awesome grandchildren: Dana Jones II, Kent and Luke Giese and Reyna Taylor Jones.
